Design example - Fail safe counterweight take-up
Currently installed on wood chip conveyors, 360 ton per hour, 1200 mm belts
Should the belt fail, the counterweight swings free, without endangering personnel and averting mechanical or structural damage
The conveyor belt and take up pulley can be easily gathered to permit a repair splice
If lubrication lines are run down the pivot arm structure to the pulley, the bearings can be lubricated from the conveyor walkway, improving system reliability
